Isolation and Identification of Bacteria from Soil Contaminated With Textile Dye And Tannery Effluents In Sokoto Metropolis

Soil contamination by textile and tannery effluents is a great concern to the environment, Complex having number of dyes accumulate in soil there polluting environments loss microbial species soil. Samples were collected physicochemical analyses was determined. The pH basic with 8.0 10.1 from dyeing site respectively. organic carbon very low 0.76% 0.06%, Nitrogen (0.067% 0,095%), phosphorus 0.8mg/kg, 1.62mg/kg), calcium (1.35mol/kg both two samples. Magnesium recorded 0.30mol/kg 1.65mol/kg, potassium 0.85 mol/kg1.65mol/kg , Sodium 3.13mol/kg 30.0 mol/kg sand, silt clay (78.8% 90.6%)(7.3% 5.3%), (13.9% 4.1%). heavy metal content sample determined concentration chromium 0.0258 0.0043 respectively, while Nickel almost unavailable -1.0700 -1.0756. Lead -0.9164 -7803. Thirteen bacterial isolated identified based on morphology biochemical charachteristics samples, frequency occurrences 23.07% for Bacillus laterosporus, 15.38% subtilis megaterium firmus, cereus, proteus vulgaris, mirabilis clostridium had 7.69% each. Fifteen subtilis, megaterium, Pseudomonas aeruginosa highest with13.33% Burkholderia cepacia, P. florescense, laterosporus,Bacillus amyloliquifeciens, brevis Proteus vulgaris 6.66% each, all these determine use Microgen identification kit, molecular analysis done isolates confirmed be Alishwanella solinqauinati subtilis. These indicate that can resist high amount toxic chemicals withstand any harsh environment hence their ability serve as potential biosorbents bioremediation affected at cheap cost.
